判断句是以名词或名词性的词组为谓语,表示判断的句子。现代汉语判断句往往用系动词“是”表示判断,古代汉语则不同,往往用固定的形式和某些副词来表示判断。要想学好文言文,必须弄清古代汉语判断句和现代汉语判断句的区别及其演变规律,就这几点本文将重点进行阐述。     

判断句的基本式与变式

简单地说,对主语有所断定的句子就是判断句。在现代汉语中,判断句要用判断动词来联系,如“我是中学生”。而在古代汉语中,判断句一般是以名词或名词短语为谓语作判断的。文言判断句的形式较多。其基本式是:

古代汉语判断句型类析

判断句是用来表示判断的。在古代汉语中,判断句一般是以名词或名词短语作谓语。但有时也可以用其它词类如动词或形容词作谓语。前者如“庠者,养也。”（《孟子·滕文公上》）后者如:“居上位而不恤其下,骄也。”（《新序·杂事》以上均详见拙著《古代汉语句型大全第34—35页）这类句子在中学语文课本中实属罕见,所以不另立类。在上古汉语中,肯定的判断句在主语和谓语之间,不用表示判断的动词“是”字。判断句常见的句中语气词是“者”字,句尾语气词子“也”字。“者”、“也”可以不译。 为了便于读者理解句型公式,现将公式中使用的符号注释如下:
