As for the origin of the American literature ,the Indian literature featured by its own characteristics ,has attributed to the development of the American literature as a global melting pot . The paper tries to analyzes the development process of the Indian literature ,to analyze the reasons why the three stages of Indian literature come into being . The paper also discusses the impact of Indian literature on the localization and independence of the American literature .
