摘    要:庚款留美始于1909年,庚款留学生在国家民族重重苦难与西方坚船利炮重击下走出国门,在求学中自觉完成自我建构。他们通过关注国内外发展动态,不断提升国人形象;通过创建学术社团,参与美国社会活动,完成自我的社会角色建构。留美生将所学所获用来改造中国落后的一面,推进中国科学技术与人文艺术的发展,为推动中国教育现代化做出积极的努力。

Reinventing Themselves-Analysis on Self-construction of the Overseas Students of Boxer Indemnity in America
Abstract:Study in America using the remission of the boxer indemnity began in 1909 ,the indemnity students went abroad in the period of national difficulties and under the strong military attack of western countries ,and they consciously completed self construction in study .By fo-cusing on the development trends at home and abroad ,they constantly enhance the image of the people ,continuously upgrade the image of the people ,and through the establishment of academic associations ,and participating in the social activities of the United States ,they completed the construction of the social role of themselves .They used what they had learned to transform China’s backward side ,to promote the development of China’s science and technology and humanities ,and made positive efforts to promote the modernization of education in china .
