A Review of A Bilingual Chinese-English Dictionary of English Synonyms

Pan ZongQian's A Bilingual Chinese-English Dictionary of English Synonyms is the first synonym dictionary that is based on Chinese to group English synonyms,thus presenting a brand-new kind of approach to English synonyms in the field.As contrasted with other traditionally compiled synonym dictionaries,this kind of Chinese word-based dictionary is tailored to the needs of Chinese readers.This paper reviews the layout,the criterion of entries and the illustrations of A Bilingual Chinese-English Dictionary of English Synonyms with a view to produce a more scientific and efficient dictionary of English synonyms for Chinese readers.
