Suppression of corruption was one of the important contents while GAO Gong held the power of the reform of official system in the period of Longqing(1567-1569).In the time of 2.5 years,he handled 64 cases of corruption and punished 169 corrupted officials,and the official work got clear and bright for time being.His measure was:rewarding the honest and punishing the corrupt;refusing the bribery and punishing the corrupt;punishing the corrupt and sharp penalty;combining punishing the corrupt with prospecting them.This was the important experience in his achievement.Of course,he also paid much price for what he had done,i.e.judging the important cases and the serious difference opinion from that of ZHANG Ju-zheng,the second primer,at last he was rejected from the cabinet and was replaced by ZHANG Ju-zheng.
