英语教学改革与翻译能力的培养

基于对本校化学系二年级学生的翻译随堂练习的分析及问卷调查,目前英语教学改革仍然不够重视学生翻译能力的培养。造成教学改革不够重视学生翻译能力的培养的原因主要包括:对翻译存在偏见,全盘否定语法翻译法,不够重视考试的效度,一些重要的考试没有翻译题型等。为了提高学习者的翻译能力,英语教学改革应当首先正确认识翻译的概念,在课堂上创新运用语法翻译法,在考试中应用好翻译测试题型。

English Teaching Reform and the Cultivation of Translation Competence

Based on an investigation on students of Grade 2 of Chemical Department and the analyses of their quiz exercises in the class, results show that not much attention is paid to cultivate students' competence of translation. The main reasons are the existence of translation bias, overall negation of the grammar-translation method, less emphasis on the validity of examinations and so on. In order to improve the learners' translation competence, English teaching should have correct concept towards translation, apply grammar-translation method innovatively in teaching, and adopt translation testing in the test.
