Abstract:It is a common phenomenon that higher vocational college students suffer from anxiety in learning English in class,which negatively affects the teaching result.Because of such factors as the poor foundation of English,personal vanities,being afraid of losing face,polytechnic colleges students have more severe anxiety than those in common colleges,which leads to more difficulty in teaching.This paper analyzes the causes for the anxiety in English learning and,based on the current situation of English classroom teaching and students’ English learning,proposes a number of countermeasures and suggestions to mitigate learning anxiety in English classroom and improve classroom teaching effect.
