On Soft Volleyball's Values in Recreational Sports in Colleges and Universities

Soft volleyball is a newly rising sport,integrating sports,leisure,entertainment,nationwide body-building and competitive sports.It is one of the recreational sports suitable for university students,in terms of its facilities,environment,students' concept of recreational sport,sports culture and so on.By means of literature,the paper presents a research on soft volleyball's values in recreational sports in colleges and universities.The research indicates: soft volleyball may become a new focus of the body-building movement in colleges and universities;the recreational soft volleyball is easy to be practiced;it may effectively enhance college students' health and improve their physique,mentality and personality;it cultivates their team spirit and expands their social contacts;it perfects their sports individuality and establishes the foundation for lifelong sports.The paper suggests further tapping the cultural connotation of soft volleyball,attaching importance to its educational function,cultivating students' sportsmanship and regulating their behavior.
