民国初年历史观领域的新变革

Some Changes in the View of History in the Early Days of the Republic of China

The accomplishments and trends of development in the science of history in the early days of the Republic of China need reexamination. In this period of time, Wang Guowei and the like made remarkable accomplishments in history study and Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao as representatives of the revolutionary team fulfilled some new transformations in the area of historical view. They published large numbers of political and historical papers, combining the evolutionary view of history and the idea of democracy and republicity with the spirit of anti-imperialism and anti-feudalism, with deeply analysing the status quo of Chinese society and old moral and cultural traditions, and with inspiring the masses and younger generation for enthusiasm for revolution and creation. All this promoted greatly history study and modernization of the academic field and presentsed a precious legacy of historical thinking which deserves to be treasured.
