浅析文化专有词的翻译

本文从语言与文化的密切关系入手,依次分析了文化专有词的信息特点、形成原因和基本的翻译方法。文化专有词所传达的文化信息特点可以从五个方面加以认知和分析。而文化专有词的形成原因应结合民族民俗习惯、民族信仰和地理环境来分析,可以概括为社会历史环境不同、地理环境差异和语言文化本身的差别这三大类。对文化专有词的翻译,本文只涉及了基础的直译、意译、音译这三种,以形成对文化专有词翻译理论认识的总体框架,便于更深入的学习和探讨。

The Translation of the Culture-specific Words

This paper discusses three kinds of common translation methods which deal with the translation of culture-specific words that are caused by the asymmetry between two cultures.The culture-specific words can mainly be divided into five sorts according to the way they convey their culture-specific meaning.As for the formation of the culture-specific words,it falls chiefly into three groups: different social and historical background,different geographic features and difference in the languages and cultures.Then the paper discusses three basic translation methods: literal translation,free translation,transliteration,in the hope that it would benefit the future study in a more systematic way.
