| 摘 要： | 清朝末年,民教冲突是中西矛盾的一个突出焦点。江苏民教冲突的产生较其他省份稍早,但缓和的时间也比较早些。从发生的烈度来看,较北方临近省份稍轻,其中江北地区较江南地区稍重。其个中原因是多方面的,既有帝国主义与中华民族间的矛盾,又有中西文化差异间的矛盾;既有当时全国普遍的社会原因,又有江苏地区的独特性。

| Abstract: | At the end of the Qing Dynasty, conflicts between Christians and Chinese local people were a prominent focus of contradiction between China and the West. They appeared earlier in Jiangsu, and stopped earlier too. In terms of intensity, the conflicts were less serious in Jiangsu than in the northern neighboring provinces and regions north of the Yangtze River suffered more. The multiple reasons include conflicts between the Chinese and western culture as well as between imperialism and the Chinese people. There are nationwide social reasons and unique ones in Jiangsu area. |
