阿衡画牛半世纪

衢州孔氏家庙的藏画中，有一幅女画家阿衡创作的《百牛图》。这幅画有109头姿态各异的大牛小牛公牛母牛的水墨画，是用4张四尺宣纸拼起来的。阿衡的书法也很有特色，她另用30厘米宽的长条纸写了一篇《牛颂》，拼在画的天头上，更增添了《百牛图》的诗情与气势。

Fifty Years on Painting Oxen

Zhu Bingheng created a painting of 100 oxen for the memorial temple of Confucius in Quzhou, a central city in southern Zhejiang Province. In May, 2000, she offered to present a painting as a gift to the newly built Confucius Residence in Quzhou when I was taking her around the residence which was yet to open to the general public. I passed the idea to Kong Xiangkai, a direct descendent of Confucius. Kong was very pleased with the proposal and suggested a painting about 100 oxen as he came to understand that Zhu Bingheng is excelled at painting oxen. I knew it would be a tough challenge to Zhu Bingheng even though she is an experienced hand. But Zhu was glad about the challenge.
