| Abstract: | The poems in Guo Feng of The Book of Songs can be divided into three groups: the poems written in the early time by the people of Zhou; those written in the feudal period after Zhou had dominated the Central Plains; and those written by the southern minorities who had been assimilated but excluded by Zhou. Thus the distinctive features of poetic styles between south and north China have been formed. The study of the poetic styles in Guo Feng of The Book of Songs is of great importance in understanding why there are southern and northern poetic styles in Chinese culture. |
