西学东渐的文化冲突及其反思

摘    要:自鸦片战争西学东渐,西方科学技术文化与中国传统道德文化的矛盾、冲突随之展开。通过对“洋务运动”中的“体”“用”之争以及随后的科玄论战分析,揭示了论争背后深层次“价值理性”与“工具理性”的文化价值冲突,阐释了文化器物层、制度层、观念层的内在统一,不可割裂;探讨了科学主义在中国语境下的特殊意义,指出当前中国应弘扬科学精神,提高公民科学素养,而不宜大张旗鼓地批判科学主义。

Abstract:Western learning had been introduced into China since Opium War,afterwards the contradictory and conflict between western culture of science and technology and Chinese traditional moral culture are developed.Through the analysis of dispute between "traditional culture" and "instrumental reason" in westernization movement,and the argumentation between science and metaphysics,the article reveals the culture value conflict between value reason and instrumental reason behind the argumentation.It also explains the inner unity of implements level,institution level and idea level in culture,these levels can not be cut apart.The paper inquires into the special significance of scientism in China,points out we should advocate scientific spirit,and improve citizen's scientific literacy.We should not criticize scientism on a large scale in a big way.
