Innovative Practice and Characteristics of the Embedded Subject Service in International Schools--The Mechanical Engineering Subject Service in Shanghai Jiao Tong University Library

Joint operation of international schools in universities is becoming an important part of the undergraduate education model. How to effectively carry out embedded subject services in international schools needs to be thoroughly considered. Taking the mechanical engineering subject service practices in Shanghai Jiao Tong University Library as an example, the paper interprets how this team innovates the embedded subject services and adapts itself to the international environment in the UM-SJTU Joint Institute from seven aspects, i.e., information literacy education, base maintenance activities, school special issues, construction of course e-reserve system, LibGuides and subject blogs, and volunteer librarian cultivation. Also, it analyses the features of the innovative embedded subject services.
