Comenius' Theoretical Contributions to the Educational History

J.A.Comenius(1592—1670) is a famous patriot and great bourgeois-democratic educator in Czech in the 17th centurary.He proposed a series of educational reforming measures which promoted the development of capitalism.He has made epoch-making contributions to the educational ideas and theories.His theories laid the groundwork for modern bourgeois system of educational theories,and influenced the future school education.This paper aims to discuss his contributions to the educational theories from the perspectives of his theories of the aim and and function of education,the principles of natural adaptation,the propagate education and united academic system,courses and textbooks,the school working system and teaching principles.
