This method of comparison was usedto compareit withthe poems of thelater ti mes ,which wasemployed not only to explain the meanings of words and to analyze the styles of the poems ,but to findout the relationship between Shijing and other later poetry from the historical point of view and themethod was also liable to helping commentators to express their viewpoints and assisting readers to un-derstand the mood of a poetic work.
