“弱者的宣言”——北美新移民文学的一种读法

北美新移民文学作为新移民文学中的重要一支,有着较为独特的文学叙事上的特征,具体体现为对北美新移民生存压力、语言隔阂、文化差异等诸多问题的演绎。在如何摆脱与超越弱者身份的叙事方式方面,北美新移民作家们有着自己不同的选择。这里面既有曹桂林、周励等早期作品中的那种对自我弱者身份的带有夸饰性的想象超越,也有如阎真、少君等用＂独立个体＂的自我表述将＂弱者＂身份的无形化解,更有严歌苓小说中所表达出的＂弱势对强势的慷慨的宽恕＂。

＂Declaration of the Weak＂——An Interpretation of New North American Immigrants＇ Literature

As an important branch,the literature of new North American immigrants has a special literary narrative feature,which reflects the survival pressure,the language barriers,the cultural differences and other problems of the new immigrants to North America.New North American immigrant writers have their own different choices on narration as to how to get rid of and surpass the identity of the weak.Among the narrations,there are imagined and exaggerated transcendence of the weak identity of themselves by Cao Guilin,Zhou Li and other early writers,there are self presentation of invisible defusing of an ＂independent individual＂ by Yan Zhen and Shao Jun,and there is ＂the weak generously forgiving the strong＂ as shown in Yan Geling＇s novels.
