| 摘 要： | 新自由主义是当代西方学者探讨教育与国家关系的重要理论视域与知识资源。英国当代著名新自由主义经济学家埃德温.韦斯特在教育与国家关系研究领域卓有建树。通过对国家保护儿童以及公共教育邻近效应原则的批判,韦斯特致力于揭穿国家公共教育的神话,进而论证国家放任教育的历史合法性和理论合法性,力主消除教育的国家垄断,构建国家教育责任的新模式。韦斯特的国家公共教育神话论具有特定的历史性和境遇性,可以为我国教育理论研究和教育改革实践提供一定的启示和教训。
