Research on Cross- Strait Trade Settlement Problems

Settlement of cross-strait trade has been greatly developed,but still lags behind the process of cross-strait economic and trade cooperation.The limitations of cross-strait currency exchange,the difficult in directing remittance,clearing system needs to be established.Such problems as the obstacles to the mutual establishment of financial institutions existing in cross-strait trade settlement restrict the further development of cross-strait economic and trade relations.With the signing of the MOU,ECFA and other agreements,both of Mainland and Taiwan should improve their currency exchange and the exchange rate formation mechanism,establish a settlement system based on cross-strait currency,and take a variety of preferential policies and measures to promote cross-strait mutual establishment of financial institutions to further promote cross-strait trade settlement services.
