试论体育助推广州的现代化和国际化

城市发展与体育发展是整体和局部的关系，体育与城市的发展相互促进。广州成功中办2010年亚运会，对推进广州经济社会的全面发展，完善协调功能，加大改革开放力度，提升城市形象，形成国际核心竞争力，率先基本实现现代化，走向世界，将产生积极而深远的影响。重点论述体育对广州市城市发展的重要作用，认为必须从城市发展的战略全局来考虑体育发展的问题，并就政府如何加强对体育事业的领导问题进行了初步探讨。

On the Function of PE for the Modernization and Internationalization of Guangzhou

The relationship between the development of city and PE seems like the relationship between whole and part which promote each other. The success of applying for holding Asian Games in 2010 influences every aspect of society in Guangzhou. It plays a great role in further opening, bettering the image of Guangzhou, possessing the power of international competition and realizing modernization and so on. This paper mainly discusses the great role of PE in the development of Guangzhou city. The author regards that we must consider the development of PE from the whole development of Guangzhou city. It also supplies some suggestions for the government about the leadership of PE.
