A Study of the Technical Features of NBA International Players during the 2007-2008 Season

Relevant technical data of NBA international players were statistically analyzed, and contrasted with those of players of US citizenship. The results show： centers constituted a larger portion of international players than rear guards did; the evident technical advantages of international players included high average hit rates per game, and a large number of rebounds and rejec- tions, while their evident technical disadvantages lay in a relatively small number of points, assists and steals. Recommenda- tions： the training of rear guards and compound capability players should be enhanced ; the training of the capability for physical opposition and quick response should be strengthened; the weakness in soft, slowand oversteady actions should be overcome.
