Abstract:With its core of presenting life' s elegant demeanour, competitive sports could easily resolve an emotional consonance among people from different cultures and places. Therefore it becomes an important channel to promote a city' s image. Host cities have to, on one hand, understand the nature of city image as a complicated system; and to improve, on the other hand, the environmental infrastructure of better cities. What is more, they should follow the basic requirements of culture communication to achieve most effective promotion of city image through scientific communication strategies, best sports programs, elaborate art design and cultural events plans.
