The Fourth Crusade did not achieve the conquest of the "Holy Land", but diverted to Constantinople, the capital of Byzantine Empire. It seemed occasional, while implied certain social background. This dissertation aims to elucidate the reasons of the diversion of the Fourth Crusade to Constantinople, in order that we might get a deeper knowledge of this historical event.
