| Abstract: | The practice of examinations was one of the greatest contributions made by Chinese people to the institutional civilization of human being. On this special occasion of the 100th anniversary of the abolition of the Imperial Examinations system, we still think highly of the historical position and significance of it. As was shown in the history, in feudalistic China with a rigorous hierarchical system, the Imperial Examinations system was still a very hard-won institution with equitable spirits. The practice of examinations was the historical choice. Before coming to better methods, examinations can not be abolished radically. |
