Abstract: | Recently a friend of mine who once worked at a private Taiwanese software-development corporation talked about his quest for employment at the time. Although he was a mathematics graduate, he had hoped to engage in software development. But when he applied for a job, he was given tests in psychology, intelligence, and character—tests that had nothing to do with his software specialization—in addition to tests in the specialization. Since he had not studied computer courses, he gave up hope after the exams. To his surprise, however, he eventually received a notice of engagement. |
