Forein Language Education in North Zhejiang in Late Qing Dynasty and Early Republic of China

The foreign language education in the north of Zhejiang Province was initiated and developed during the late Qing Dynasty and the early stage of the Republic of China,particularly in the primary and secondary schools,and in social educational institutes in the cities of Huzhou and Jiaxing.The activities of foreign language education played an active part in cultivating new qualified talents,enlarging the educational exchange between China and foreign countries and spreading the Western democratic and revolutionary ideas,which had a great impact on the modernization of the north of Zhejiang Province.
