| 摘 要： | 一个数据库系统投入正式运行之后,标志着开发任务的基本完成和长期维护工作的开始,但这并不意味着数据库设计过程的终结。对数据库系统进行评价、调整、修改等维护工作是一个长期的任务。为保持数据库系统的正常运行,数据库管理员（DBA）必须做一些日常性的维护工作,主要包括数据库的日常清理、维护及重建索引、定期完成数据库备份及日志文件的备份和维护等。本文以PostgreSQL数据库管理系统为例,结合该系统对关系数据库日常的维护工作做了一些较全面的分析。

| Abstract: | There are many tasks such as evaluating, adjusting, or modifying the database system to maintain it. To keep the database system running normally, database administrator （DBA） must do some daily maintenance work, which includes daily database cleanup, maintaining and rebuilding index, regularly backup the database, and maintaining and backup the log files etc. Taking the PostgreSQL database management system as an example, this paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the daily maintenance work for a database system. |
