清中叶避祸心理对白话短篇小说题材的影响

清中叶以后愈演愈烈的文字狱,造成了整个社会的避祸心理。在避祸心理的影响下,文人原有的对社会政治、民生、时事的关注热情和济世治国的社会责任感日渐减弱。反映在白话短编小说的创作,首先引起了题材的变化:小说题材以封建伦理道德为主要题材,反映现实的题材明显减少,与此同时,有为数不少的作品在以往的旧题材中打转转,有许多作品题材与以往题材或相同或相似,有的还走到了从笔记、野史中找题材的老路上,甚至还出现了较多写妖魔鬼怪的非现实题材的作品,严重地影响了这一时期作品的现实性和思想性。

Under the influence of psychology, men of letters gradually lost their former zeal on politics, current events and the people's livelihood, of which the first reflection on literary creation was the changes of themes. Afterwards, the popular themes included feudal morals, some old themes and unrealistic life, etc. The change of theme influenced the ideological content of fiction.
