The novel Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan has evoked another round of Chinese American literature's popularity in the world since its publication in 1989.In the novel are described in a unique way the understandings of the unique self-identity by the Chinese American females of the first and the second generations in the patriarchal society and cultural conflicts and inosculations between China and America,and lastly establishing their unique identities: to be roles not discarding any culture,whatever the Chinese one or the American one,but connecting cultures of the east and the west and making them inosculated in their identities,which has a universal significance for Chinese American females of the first and the second generations.
