The Fascination of Yangzhou

Many Chinese first come to know the city of Yangzhou from their childhood poetry books. The famous line from the Tang Dynasty verse - “You have left me behind, my old friend, at the Yellow Crane Tower, on your way to visit Yangzhou in the misty month of flowers“ - has stirred people‘s imagination and expectations about this fascinatina city in southeast China.
