“替罪羊”模式是美国小说用于表达思想主题的极为常见的文学表现形式 ,但到目前为止 ,国内极少有人对此专述。这里选取四篇具有鲜明“替罪羊”模式特征的小说 ,从内容、结构、表现手法等方面透视它们在利用“替罪羊”模式时所表现出不同的深层主题涵义 ,展示这四篇作品艺术魅力的另一面 ,并为读者解读美国其它包孕类似模式的小说提供一条新路径

On "Scapegoat" Novels in American Literature

As a common way of expression of literary motifs, the "scapegoat" pattern, although recurring in American literature, has not been explicated in China so far. This article makes a tentative and chronological analysis of four American novels in an attempt to decode their deep-layered themes while creatively employing the "scapegoat" archetype from such different perspectives as content, structure and way of expression. This paper attempts to unveil the actistic charm of the four novels and provides an alternative to undenstand other Amerian novels of the same genre.
