摘    要:本文从认知角度探讨了隐喻的本质及其在英语专业教学中的作用和意义,通过具体实例重点分析了在英语专业学生词汇和阅读教学中隐喻作为一种思维方式对相关教学的重要意义,旨在加强英语教学者和学习者对培养隐喻思维去认识世界的重要性的认识,从而行成一个系统全面的英语词汇与阅读教学学习体系。

Abstract:This text has discussed the essence of metaphor and the significant function and meaning it may bear in the process of Englis- major students in-class teaching from the angle of Cognitive Linguistics, and has put special emphases on the analysis of those particular living examples reaching the conclusion that metaphor has played an important part as a sort of thinking mode in the teaching of English vocabulary and comprehensive reading to those English major students.
