| Abstract: | This text has discussed the essence of metaphor and the significant function and meaning it may bear in the process of Englis- major students in-class teaching from the angle of Cognitive Linguistics, and has put special emphases on the analysis of those particular living examples reaching the conclusion that metaphor has played an important part as a sort of thinking mode in the teaching of English vocabulary and comprehensive reading to those English major students. |
