A Contrastive Study and Intertranslation of the English and Chinese Numeral Phrases

This paper compares the two numeral phrases systems of English and Chinese in terms of their constructions, meanings and cultural origins,with the purpose of predicting and interpreting the causes of difficulties in translating numeral idioms and compound words.The author puts forward some translation principles in order to benefit both language teaching and learning.
