中国古代文论研究最早由中国古代文学专家开创,近三十年来文艺学家在这个领域里声音日渐响亮,与古代文学专家的研究相互配合、相互渗透。文艺学家力图通过对古代文论的阐释,揭示文学艺术的一般规律,为建构中国现代文学理论体系寻求思想资源。文艺学家研究古代文论,应力戒脱离古人的文本和语境,强人证己,力戒比附西方文论,游谈无根。古代文论的现代转换,不应停留在词语和口号,关键是从当代的文学实际出发,以解释、解决文学发展中的问题为目的。
