| Abstract: | This study, grounded in the genre-register model of Systemic Functional Grammar, makes an analysis on straight news genre in terms of field, tenor and mode. Based on its research findings, the research aims to provide a concrete example for the application of Systemic Functional Grammar into Discourse Analysis. It also aims to help the news readers understand the textual features of straight news and obtain considerable information. |
