| Abstract: | Ian McEwan applies postmodern meta-fictional technique to his novel Atonement and reveals the contradictive relationship be-tween fiction and reality.With the reference to classical works,the writer highlights the self-consciousness of the novel;through the self-reve-lation of the writing process,he blurs the line between fiction and reality.The application of metafiction renders the novel more aesthetic signif-icance and meaning. |
