| Abstract: | Liu Zongyuan,the noted writer,thinker and stateman in the Mid-Tang Dynasty,made quite a number of friends with monks and priests,thus,his political life was deeply engraved upon by Buddhist learning.This article engages in textual research and finds some principle facts of Liu Zongyuan's association with the clergy during his stay in Liuzhou and his temperament and taste of combining both Confucianism and Buddhism. |
