A Study of Corpus-Based Approach to Collocation

Corpus -based study of collocation, drawing upon empirical data from corpora together with statistical measurement, has made contributions to various fields of linguistic study. This paper is devoted to depicting a general picture of the corpus - based study of collocation by basing its discussion on the definition, identification principles, and the research method of corpus - based approach to collocation. Meanwhile, it lays emphasis on the research method, which is then classified in terms of the semantic level, the grammar level, and the pragmatic level.
