Historical Development of Chinese Communist Party's Policies towards Taiwan before establishing Relationship with America

Before establishing relationship with America, Chinese Communist Party's policies towards Taiwan had experienced a developing period from "liberating Taiwan" to "no longer using the term,'liberating Taiwan'". This period includes three stages: Liberating Taiwan by military forces; trying to seek for a peaceful liberation but not excluding the use of military forces; both of calling for peaceful negotiations and military punishment. The policies towards Taiwan in different period show that the Chinese Communist Party has been exploring the proper ways to solve the problem of Taiwan and its rational thinking, as offers some beneficial revelations to the future policies toward Taiwan.
