On the Intertextuality and Its Cultural Sense of the Poetic Language in Yu Da-fu''''s Novels

Poetic language inserted in the text is common in Yu Da-fu's novels,which is one of the usual ways by which Yu's sentimental novels are built.The phenomenon of introducing the poetic language,a completely different form from writings in the vernacular into the novel,is named intertextuality in a broad sense.During the inaugurating period of Chinese new literary,this kind of technique in Yu's novels signifies some important problems of culture.For example,such problems as the mergence between the western and China and the link between the modern and tradition are all implied in the using of intertextuality.
