| 摘 要： | 委婉语是各种文化中都存在的一种表达方式。传统的委婉语研究主要局限于委婉语的言语表达，而本文提出，现代委婉语研究范畴应用同时包容非言语委婉语表达。在这种广义委婉语的基础上，作者从四个方面展开英汉委婉语的对比，指出二者的差异，并肯定了二者的趋同现象。

| Abstract: | Euphemism is a mode of expression that exists in all cultures. The traditional study of euphemism is mainly confined to verbal expression, while the author in this paper puts forward the idea that our modern study of euphemism should include both verbal and nonverbal expressions. On this basis, the author makes a comparative study of English & Chinese euphemisms in four aspects, pointing out their differences and convergence. |
