A New Interpretation of Cooperative Principle to Logical Fallacy

Cooperative principle, a classical pragmatic theory put forward by Grice, aims to promote a cooperative communication. In reality, it is too idealistic; therefore, a cooperative principle of understanding which adopts a non-forceful way should be developed. Research shows that logical fallacy, an important component of logic, is a typical example of the violation of cooperative principle. A study of logical fallacy from the aspect of cooperative principle can reveal the nature of logical fallacy.
