The Application of Discourse Analysis into the Teaching of Reading Comprehension

This paper analyses the process of English reading comprehension and tries to explore the application of the discourse analysis approach to the teaching of reading comprehensiorrPart- icular attention is paid to the discussion of cohesive devices and cultural backgrounds in reading in order to achieve a full and deep interpretation of a text from both the macro and micro as- pects and motivate students＇ thoughts and therefore improve the ability of English reading comprehension.
