Review of Burton R. Clark's Thoughts of Entrepreneurial University

With the impact of globalization, knowledge - based economy and technological innovation, the universi- ties confront with unprecedented challenges. Society and Stakeholders make increasing demands of the university, therefone universities have to seek to change its roles and functions in order to adapt to the changing environment. This article analyses America famous professor Burton R. Clark＇s thoughts of entrepreneurial university. Clark pro- posed five ways to transform a university to be an entrepreneurial one. However, he argued that the pathways of transformation have to be seen as ongoing processes rather than as endpoints. So he suggested three dynamics which sustain entrepreneurial change of a proactive university.
