Monasteries and Universities in Middle Age

The universities were fruits resulted from advancement of human intellect and systematic knowledge,which had evolved from elementary education of western Europe in the midlle ages.The monastries had aged-old cultural and educational tradition,which had contributed greatly to the early universities in many ways including intellect,teaching,branch of learning and organization of colleges.By taking part in the teaching and academic research in the early universities,the monasteries,especially the orders of friars had cultivated a group of brilliant scholars who went down in the annals of history with their great accomplishments,and given impetus to the curriculum change in the universities.
