从目的论看美国文化霸权下异化翻译的必要性

翻译行为所要达到的目的决定整个翻译行为的过程。译者可以在特定的翻译情境中选择特定的翻译目的,并为实现这一目的而采用相应的翻译策略。当前,美国在全球范围内大肆实施文化霸权主义。中国译者应以传播和发展中国文化,抵制美国文化霸权,促进世界文化多样性为翻译目的,在翻译时有必要尽量采用异化策略。

On the Necessity of Foreignizing Translation Against American Cultural Hegemony from the Perspective of Skopos Theory

The Skopos rule says that a translational action is determined by its Skopos;that is,the end justifies the means.Therefore,translators can choose a particular Skopos in a given translational situation and employ a correspondent translation strategy to achieve the goal.Nowadays the United States has been expanding its cultural hegemony throughout the world.In view of this situation,present Chinese translators should make it their translation purpose to spread and enrich Chinese culture,resist American cultural hegemony and promote cultural diversity in the world.Accordingly,it is necessary for Chinese translators to employ foreignization strategy as often as possible in the translation process.
