| Abstract: | With regard to the division of language function, translators and linguists hold divergent standards, from the simple to the complicated in nature. Various models of text function could serve as points of departure for translating. This essay introduces briefly German Functionalism of translation theory which holds that a translation action is determined by Skopos and then analyzes Zhang Peiji's English version of Xia Yan's Wild Grass from the perspective of this theory. |
