以在燕赵地域内发生、存在的武术文化为研究对象,从地域文化视角对于燕赵武术文化的形成、演变过程进行独特资源、内在特征、文化优势等方面的综合解读,分析燕赵武术文化特征及其历史成因,论述燕赵武术文化历史悠久的开新传统和源远流长的民俗武风,梳理燕赵武术文化刚健有为、尚武自强的爱国主义精神传统,归纳并阐释燕赵武术清代以降所表现出的"引领中国武术浪潮"的发展特点.
