At present, the traditional preparatory activities in physical lessons can not satisfy students' desire and thirst for knowledge. The contents of preparatory activities must be novel and realistic. In order to adapt to the reform of class teaching, This essay will discuss the usage of games as part of preparatory activities in the track and field teaching. By the experimental comparisons and analysis, the conclusion can be drawn as follows: Games teaching will greatly arouse the students' interest in study and produce the correct learning motive and attract the students' learning initiative and consciousness so as to fully develop the leading roles of both the students and teachers and be helpful to the accomplishment of the track and field teaching.
